Wedding Bells

We attended a wedding on Monday. One of my cousins married his sweetheart of four years. It was at a cute little chapel in Layton. The ceremony was nice, and the reception good. We usually have a good time with my extended family. I used the occasion to get an informal four generation photo. One aspect of the reception I found fairly unique was that they had a photo booth. You got print outs just like a regular photo booth, and then all the pictures were burned to a disk for the wedding couple. All the kids thought it was great. Alyssa found a mirror in the loft area of the chapel and spent quite some time dancing in front of it. I think she may have been daydreaming about being the bride. She has been humming the wedding march all day today.

How cute of her to have so much fun with the mirror. :) I'm glad the wedding went so well.

Ach! Too early to be thinking about being a bride! See if you can direct it to playing princess instead. That's a lot safer, since she's unlikely to believe that dream still when she's a bride and rush into kissing a frog just so she can have the pretty dress and the party.

She is most deffinately of the oppinion that boys are icky! She just likes the idea of a big party and a pretty dress. She has a good head on her shoulders, even at four she is pretty logical about things. You can tell sometimes that she is really thinking about how life works. At this particular wedding she spent a lot of time trying to figure out how all the family relationships worked(cousins, aunts, etc). She is far less impulsive than her brothers. I can actually more see her as the unmarried old "cat lady" because she would far rather adopt every animal she sees than deal with people. As she says "animals aren't mean to me, they don't yell"

Well, they do say that if you want unconditional love, you have to buy a dog,, so maybe she's onto something there. Perhaps she's a vet in the making.

I can totally see her as a veterinarian. Rylan calls her the cat whisperer because she can walk up to and pick up any cat she sees. She has trained Erik's mom's dog to go to bed and lay under a blanket. When our dog got attacked a couple weeks ago she was the one who inspected his wounds five times a day. Yep...I could totally see that.

Although on the boy front, she did inform me the other day that it just wasn't fair that there were no partners short enough for her to dance with. She made due by showing off for Margaret instead.
