It's begining to look a lot like Christmas!

Time for the anual Christmas pictures for the family out of state. Great Grandma gets a new picture every year to help her keep up with the little ones. This year we decided to be more formal and make them wear their Sunday best. I think they turned out pretty well considering it was too cold to take them outside, and my mom didn't have her tree up yet. I was able to get a few of just my kids outside after church last week.

Happy Birthday Colton

Another title for this post could also be "to "heck" and back again". Colton's premature birth was both the best and worst day for us. It was certainly the scariest day(year) I've ever been through. Colton was 11 weeks premature, he weighed 2 lbs 12 oz. and was 15.5 inches long, he was big for his age.

(yes that is a beanie baby next to him)

Not only was he early but he was also very sick with an infection. He was on a ventilator for 8 days, and on oxygen for just over a month. When he came home Jan 21st he was 5lbs 10 oz. He was very fragile for the first year of his life, visiting Primary Childrens' 4 times, once for 2 weeks. But look at him now. He is in kindergarden and just about reading. His health is good and we are enjoying his sweet personality.

Colton had a wonderful birthday. We celebrated with my family on Thanksgiving, and we will be getting together with Erik's family on Monday. We had pie and presents and a bucket load of laughs. A far cry from how we spent the day of his birth. He is my little miracle, he should by all means be disabled, and we have been blessed with a healthy, "normal" child.

Friday's quick quote

Let us first teach little children to breathe, to vibrate, to feel, and to become one with the general harmony and movement of nature. Let us first produce a beautiful human being, a dancing child.

Happy Turkey Day

Since IHC was so gracious enough to give me exactly 24 hours off for Thanksgiving(meaning I worked until 11:00 pm the night before, and I came back at 11:00 tonight, really who needs sleep when there is turkey to eat.) I was able to enjoy a nice holiday with my family. The children behaved well (for my kids anyway), the food was wonderful, and all were present. You can't ask for much more. Now on toward the mad rush of Christmas, and all the scheduling nightmares IHC can give.

Friday's quick quote

Stifling an urge to dance is bad for your health - it rusts your spirit and your hips.

Friday's quick quote

Dance is a song of the body. Either of joy or pain.
